About the state of a child and the state of an adult, when you are an adult.

About the state of a child and the state of an adult, when you are an adult.Although we humans can reach respectable biological ages, 80, 90 or 100+ years, biological age is by no means the guarantee of the level of emotional maturity to which we have developed. Regardless of the years we’ve accumulated, we always carry a child inside us, which takes control of our being, in the most different situations.

On the one hand, the inner child is a positive presence in our lives. The states of joy, enthusiasm, humor, play, curiosity, need for new, adventure and discovery, they are all created by the inner child. But being a child also has negative connotations, which hinder our development and growth. The most important of these are described below.

The child is greedy and always pushes the limits. The child always wants more chocolate, more time spent on the screen, more time in the park. The adult in the child state is never satisfied with the money he earns, with the position he has in the company, with the partner he is with, he always wants more and more. The adult in the adult state looks at and receives with thanks and gratitude what he has.

The child is egocentric and considers that the world revolves around him, therefore everyone should please him and everything should happen according to his wish and will. The 2-year-old child throws a tantrum in the store when the parent refuses to buy him a chocolate bar. The child-like adult throws a tantrum when the partner does not meet his expectations. The adult in the adult state understands that he can only control himself and his reactions to life situations and not the situation itself. The adult in adulthood understands that expectations are the creation of his mind, which may or may not correspond to reality. And reality is always right.
